Folded Heart
The brief was to create a heart and to incorporate the client's wife’s birthstone into the artwork. I worked from the outside of the heart layering pearlescent silver discs and turquoise discs radiating into the middle. I wanted the colour to radiate out from the center and to look like a flower. To create the flower, I used Swarovski crystal petals, crackled glass beads, clear crystal beads in turquoise, tanzanite, and blue zircon which is his wife’s birthstone. I then added touches of clear and turquoise stones onto all the folded petals to add a radiating effect to the outside. The heart is mounted in a black box frame size 80cm x 80cm.
Kontextur and Kaniez Abdi Shower Curtain Collection
Abdi and Kontextur founder, Kenneth Schiller, worked closely together to develop this first line of tactile textiles. According to Schiller, “With this launch, we wanted to push the boundaries of the shower curtain and eschew the typical selection of cute, kitschy and dull in favour of modern, sexy and sophisticated -with a keen eye on functionality and concern for the environment.
Kontextur – a forward-thinking, home accessories company – is back on the scene with a new couture line of shower curtains. Collaborating with avant-garde British textile designer, Kaniez Abdi, Kontextür’s new KONTEXTÜR X ABDI collection features four mod designs, each with its own distinct personality and a broad range of colour ways. Favouring high-quality materials, the company is also pleased to announce its foray into the use of TPU – a high-performance, recyclable plastic that is much more environmentally friendly than PVC.

Torin Over Exhibition
This was a group exhibition, based on the elements of earth, wind, fire, and water, crossing over into the realms of art. The exhibition was shown in Piazza della Repubblica 25, Torino Italy.
The concept for this project was to create a fabric that felt like air. I created a fabric that gave this feeling of wind, air, and space. The Spiral fabric was suspended in the air to create an illusion of a cloud. The installation is called Aria.
